As you may know, I am very passionate about baking.  It’s challenging.  It is a creative outlet for me as I experiment, combine recipes, and use my own techniques.  It is so rewarding to see the end results (of course I make mistakes, which I learn from after I throw an internal-tantrum). I enjoy baking for the sake of being able to share my creations with friends and family and of course for using it for a better cause!

In addition to baking, I also have a heart for those who are in need, especially children.  I know I am fortunate enough to have my basic needs and much more met, but many others are not. I know giving back to my community will help others, but it will also help me. It will help me understand my role in my community, and help me grow even more compassion for others. Over the pandemic, I have decided that why not use something that I love to benefit a whole other cause!

I’ve been researching different organizations- there are so many!!  But here are a few that tugged at my heart, right near me:

Proceeds would go to:

Mercy Hospice: Mercy Hospice provides housing and social services to women in recovery from substance abuse, in particular mothers with young children.
St. Edmond’s Home for Children: St Edmond’s Home provides an exceptional holistic outcome oriented plan of care for children with intellectual and physical disabilities.

Where my baked goods go to:

Bethesda Project: The Bethesda Project is a homeless nonprofit shelter located in Philadelphia. It provides emergency shelter, housing and support to families in need.

I plan to start selling my baked goods to my local friends/family. I can bake almost anything so I will take special requests, but for now, here is a list of a few options and pricing.  All baked goods are made by scratch with natural ingredients and contain no preservatives. All profits will go to one of the two organizations listed above. (see menu way below)

I also make candies (fudge, Brazilian truffles), macarons, etc. (See my gallery page).  Please email me at annabel.bakes.blog@gmail.com to arrange orders.
Thank you for reading and I hope you consider ordering something – for a greater cause soon!
