Red Velvet Macarons

Calling all red velvet lovers! Not the band, “Red Velvet” (no hate, but I do hate that band HAHA) but the cake! I took my base macarons recipe and made some changes to create this red velvet version. I was so surprised on how easy it way, considering the stress from testing this. As you know, macarons can be tricky and the slightest measurement can mess you up, so be careful!

The secret to this is to whisk together the almond flour and powdered sugar like the recipe says, then to remove 1 tablespoon of the mixture, then add 1 1/2 tablespoon of cocoa powder to the dry ingredients (because red velvet is made with a little bit of cocoa powder). Then whisk until combined.

Of course you need the food coloring too- you can leave it out but then the macarons will be a light brown color. Also I forgot to mention this recipe is gluten free!

My base recipe that I use is not my own so I can’t write it out, however I am linking it below (but all photos are always my own) 🙂 If you want to make these, just use that base recipe then do what I stated to do above. This is the recipe from tasty.co

  1. These look delicious and so perfect, I’ve heard macarons are difficult to make. I love red velvet! 😃🙌 Plus they’re perfect for Valentine’s Day! I made some red velvet cookies last night, for a Valentine’s Day post, great minds think alike! 😃🙌✨

    1. Thank you so much for your comment, it means a lot!! Macarons can be difficult, however I use a ton of shortcuts to make the process easier, plus they only come out good half the time 🤣 I love red velvet too, can’t wait to see the red velvet cookies post!! 💕💕

    1. Thank you! Yes you should try them someday, people say they are hard, they just require a lot of patience. I don’t have any patience so thats why these are usually hard for me hahaha 😂 😉
